Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation discussed preparation of Plan of joint actions of two countries for 2009 - 2010

October 17. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Russia discussed preparation of the Plan of joint actions of two countries for 2009 - 2010. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Marat Tazhin, informed at the briefing after the meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, on Thursday, the agency reports.
"We have carried on negotiations ... on the course of realization of the arrangement of the leaders of the states reached, following the results of the actions and execution of the plan of joint actions of our countries in 2007 - 2008 and preparation of the similar document for 2009 - 2010," M. Tazhin said.
Kazakhstan-Russian cooperation has been raised to the new level on all spectrum of bilateral and multilateral relations. "For the last 6 years volume of commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia has increased by 4 times," M. Tazhin informed. In 2007 volume of commodity turnover between the countries has made $16.3 billion and for 8 months of 2008 - $13.5 billion. "Growth of commodity turnover totaled 31 % (from the beginning of the year)," he emphasized.
