Presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan discussed development of bilateral cooperation

Astana. August 14. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, discussed the questions of development of bilateral cooperation in Cholpan-Ata on Wednesday, the agency reports referring to the message of the president's press service.

According to the press service, the leaders of the states discussed development of bilateral cooperation, the course of realization of the decisions accepted at II session of the Supreme Interstate Council of two countries in April 2008.

Kazakhstan since July, 1 introduced the right for citizens of Kyrgyzstan to stay in Kazakhstan without registration in law-enforcement bodies for 90 days.

Mutual commodity turnover in January - June, 2008 made almost $280 million that exceeded the parameters of the similar period of 2007 by 26 %.

"We would like to increase commodity turnover up to one billion dollars," N. Nazarbayev noted.

According to press service, Kazakhstan party will positively solve the issue of delivery of 40 thousand tons of wheat to Kyrgyzstan.

The Presidents of two states supported further strengthening the ongoing strategic cooperation of two brotherly states, all-round expansion of trade and economic relations.
