President of Kyrgyzstan signed Law on Meetings

Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, signed the Law of Kyrgyzstan on introduction of additions and amendments to the Law of Kyrgyzstan on the right of citizens to freedom of assembly and without weapons to freely hold meetings and demonstrations, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
According to the press service, the law in force on the right of citizens to gather peacefully and without weapons to freely hold meetings and demonstrations taking into account the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kyrgyzstan of October 14, 2004, is applied with some immunity that does not allow realizing the right of citizens to freedom of assembly to the full and causes certain legal flaws in regards to regulation of the order of carrying out of such actions.
"The President signed the Law accepted by the Parliament on introduction of additions and amendments to the Law of Kyrgyzstan on the right of citizens to freedom of assembly and without weapons to freely hold meetings and demonstrations taking into account that Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Pact of Civil and Political Rights and Kyrgyzstan Constitution allow restriction of freedom and human rights in order to maintain freedom and rights of other persons, public safety and order, importance of legal regulation of order of carrying out of public assemblies," the president's press service explains.
