Six cities became new IAC members

July 8. Kazakhstan Today - Atyrau, Aktau, Samara, Perm, Grozny and Simferopol became new members of International Assembly of Capitals and Cities (IAC). Such decision was accepted during IAC forum Capitals of XXI century: innovation and traditions in architecture and town-planning on Saturday, July 5, the agency reports.
"78 cities representing more 52 million people are IAC members," IAC Executive Director, Michael Sokolov, said.
Astana akim, Imangali Tasmagambetov, was selected the first IAC Vice President during IAC forum on Saturday. Ex-akim of the capital, the chairman of JSC Company Kazakhstan temir zholy Askar Mamin was awarded the certificate of IAC honor.
