June gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 3 %

Almaty. July 3. Kazakhstan Today - International reserves of the country (in current prices), including money of the National fund (according to preliminary estimates $25 667.3 million), have grown by 3 % and have made $46 900.4 million, the agency reports referring to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Growth of the net internal assets of the National Bank in June, 2008 has caused expansion of monetary base by 3.4 % (or by 58.0 billion KZT).

Operations on purchase of currency in the internal currency market and receipt of currency on accounts of the government have been neutralized by operations on replenishment of assets of the National fund, service of the government external debt, and reduction of the rests in the correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank.

As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have decreased by $360.7 million, assets in gold have grown by $117.8 million as a result of growth of its price in the world markets by 6.1 %.

Net international reserves in current prices of the National Bank have decreased by 1.1 % (or by $242.9 million).
