Culture Ministers session of SCO member states to be held in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek. June 20. Kazakhstan Today - The meeting of Culture Ministers of SCO member states will be held in Kyrgyzstan on June 24-25, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kyrgyzstan.

The main questions of the agenda - approval of the plan on realization of the agreement between the governments of SCO countries about cooperation in culture for 2009 - 2011 signed on August 16, 2007 in Bishkek, the plan of work of expert working group on cultural cooperation within SCO for 2008 - 2009, and regulations on the order of carrying out of arts festival of SCO member states. The meeting participants will also talk about preparation for the fourth arts festival, which will take place in Dushanbe on August 28, 2008 within the next session of Council of SCO country leaders.

"One of the important problems that will be considered at this meeting - further development of multilateral and bilateral cultural communications within the organization, assistance to preservation of variety of cultures, mutual respect, spread of knowledge and customs of the people living in SCO space," the Minister of Culture and Information of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Rayev informed.

Ministers of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed, Kyrgyzstan Sultan Rayev, Ministers of Culture of China, Tajikistan Mirzoshohruh Asrori, Minister of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Alexander Avdeev, Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan Bahtier Saydullayev will take part in the meeting.
