First session of working group of Kazakhstan - German cooperation held in Berlin

Astana. June 19. Kazakhstan Today - The first session of the working group of Kazakhstan - German cooperation within OMV (Ost-und Mitteleuropa Verein - East and Central Europe Association) was held in Berlin on Wednesday, MFA press service informed the agency.

"The first session of the working group under the aegis of Kazakhstan embassy on cooperation with Kazakhstan within the limits of East and Central Europe Association took place in Berlin on June 17," widespread press release informs.

OMV includes more than 300 large and medium German enterprises that actively develop economic cooperation in the East, Central Europe, and CIS countries.

"The structure of the working group includes German businessmen who actively work in Kazakhstan and are some kind of a lobby of Kazakhstan in Germany of such companies as power concern RWE, Siemens, МАN, Тhyssen Krupp, Deutsche Bank," the press release informed.

During the session, according to the press service, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurlan Onzhanov informed participants of the working group on the main priorities of development of the Kazakhstan economy and emphasized importance of participation of the German companies in realization of important investment projects in our country and attraction of advanced German technologies and know-how in the real sector of Kazakhstan economy.

OMV chairman noted dynamical growth of Kazakhstan economy and a possibility of realization by businessmen of Germany of new projects within the limits of industrialization and economy diversification policy conducted by Kazakhstan.

Following the results of the meeting, members of the group agreed at the following sessions to discuss pressing questions of bilateral economic cooperation, including customs and tax laws in Kazakhstan, preference concerning foreign investors, the press service informed.
