Switzerland to increase volumes of mutual trade with Kazakhstan

May 28. Kazakhstan Today - Switzerland intends to increase volumes of mutual trade with Kazakhstan. Vice State Secretary for Economic Affairs of Switzerland stated at the fifth meeting of Kazakhstan-Swiss Commission for Trade and Economic Relations on Tuesday, the agency reports.
"Dynamics of development of commodity turnover between our countries is impressive, however, we have potential that must be used," Swiss vice State Secretary said.
According to the co-chairman of the commission, the Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Zagipa Baliyeva, "Switzerland is one of the main trade partners of Kazakhstan that takes the fourth place in foreign trade of the Republic in 2007."
"According to customs bodies of Kazakhstan, as of today, Kazakhstan's commodity turnover with Switzerland is 9.6% off total volume of the Republic with all other countries," the Minister of Justice explained. Volume of foreign trade between Kazakhstan and Switzerland for the last year made $7 billion 723.9 million.
According to Z. Baliyeva, the main items of export of Kazakhstan to Switzerland are precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals, mineral products and ignoble metals and goods made of them. Switzerland exports to Kazakhstan products of chemical industry, land, air and water transportation vehicles, optical equipment and apparatus.
