Turkmenistan President to visit Kabul

Ashkhabad. April 25. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held the extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 23, during which the visit of the leader of the state to Afghanistan was discussed, the agency reports.

Vice Chairman of the Cabinet, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported on preparation of the first official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, following the results of which the parties are expected to sign four bilateral documents.

Turkmenistan in relation to Afghanistan pursues a policy of good neighborhood and economic interaction. "Today, when geopolitical value of the Central Asian region has increased, peace-making potential of Turkmenistan, which will be realized henceforth for common interests, is in great demand," the President said, having emphasized that Afghanistan that is in need of support and help, can count on the most active participation of Kazakhstan in the future.

As it was informed earlier, Turkmenistan stated its readiness to transport 30 billion cubic meters of gas annually through TransAfgan pipeline by the route Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India. Turkmenistan will increase this year deliveries of electric power from 200 megawatt up to 500.
