Kazakhstan ratified Agreement on creation of uniform system of technical protection of railways of CSTO member states

Astana. April 25. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law on ratification of the Agreement on creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states and the protocol on amendments to the Agreement on creation of the uniform system of technical protection of railways of the CSTO member states, the agency reports referring to official mass media.

As it was informed earlier, the Agreement was signed to accept further practical measures on maintenance of comprehensive preparation of railways of the states-participants to stable and uninterrupted functioning and realization of cargoes supply.

The agreement provides creation by the state-participants of the uniform system of technical protection of the railway routes of the network of railways of the CSTO member states. According to the Agreement, the interstate working group that will develop and coordinate a coherent plan of technical protection will be created.

According to article 3 of the greement, the CSTO member states entrust coordination of planning and realization of the actions of technical protection and restoration of railways, performance of the agreement and realization of the CSTO decisions regarding application of railway armies and special units of the parties of the Federal service of railway armies of the Russian Federation.

The agreement was signed on April 28, 2003 in Dushanbe.
