Senate returned to Majilis amendments to legislation strengthening responsibility for drug related crimes

Astana. March 13. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session Senate deputies considered in the second reading and directed to Majilis with the amendments the bill on amendments and additions to the Criminal Code and the Code of Kazakhstan on administrative offences concerning strengthening responsibility in the sphere of illegal circulation of drugs, the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, the bill strengthens criminal liability for fulfillment of drug related crimes up too lifelong imprisonment, in such cases, as selling drugs in educational institutions and to under aged, selling drugs in especially large sizes, persuasion to consume drugs entailing death of a person, organized criminal groups, drug smuggling in especially large sizes.

The amendments to the Administrative Code introduce the concept "entertaining organizations", and sanctions provide "suspension or prohibition of the work of such institutions in case of non-acceptance of the measures on ban of consumption of drugs in those places."
