Russia, Kazakhstan to continue cooperation in peaceful uses of atomic energy - V. Putin

Moscow. December 21. Kazakhstan Today - Russia and Kazakhstan will continue cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said today, the agency reports referring to Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

"A priority direction of cooperation is fuel and energy complex. On the basis of existing arrangements serious efforts are undertaken on cooperation strengthening in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy," Putin said after the ceremony of signing of the agreement between Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on construction of the Near-Caspian gas pipeline.

The President of the Russian Federation noted that the plan of joint actions for 2007 - 2008, which includes a complex of main undertakings in the Russian-Kazakhstan relations, was discussed at the negotiations with N. Nazarbayev.

The President also noted good start in realization of the joint project in metallurgical branch.
