Romania. November 26. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan considers Romania as the reliable political and economic partner. The President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev said on Thursday after the negotiations with the President of Romania Trayan Basesku in Bucharest, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

"The leader of the state highly estimated the level of bilateral political mutual understanding between our countries, in particular, readiness of Romania to support the candidature of Kazakhstan for OSCE presidency in 2009," the message states. According to the press service, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in transit-transport sphere, in particular, opening of direct air communication and development of cooperation within the limits of TRASECA program.

During the state visit to Romania the leader of Kazakhstan met the chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the country Nicolae Vacaroiu and discussed the questions of development of the Kazakhstan-Romanian inter-parliamentary communications. N. Vacaroiu awarded N. Nazarbayev the medal 140 years of the Senate of Parliament of Romania.
