November 15. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan can initiate carrying out of the Third World Summit on steady development in 2012 in Astana. The Minister of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan Nurlan Iskakov said during the session of international round table devoted to the first anniversary of acceptance of the Concept of transition of Kazakhstan to steady development on 2007 - 2024, the agency reports.
"We received support of the initiative to carry out the ministerial conference on steady development of the countries of the Asian-Pacific region in Astana in 2010 and in 2011 - the countries of Northern America, Europe, CIS and Central Asia. During the speech at the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly the leader of our state addressed all countries of the world with the appeal to develop global energy-ecological strategy to discuss it at the World summit of steady development in 2012," N. Iskakov reminded.
"All this opens the opportunity to put forward the initiative on the opportunity of carrying out of the Third World Summit of steady development in 2012 in the city of Astana," he considers.
According to the Minister of Environment Protection of Kazakhstan, carrying out of the Third World Summit in Astana "will allow to promote unification of the European and Asian processes of steady development according to the Eurasian idea stated by Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"The proposal on creation of the new organization at the United Nations concerning steady development with the headquarters in Astana and the proposal on creation of the secretariat of the environmental processes for Eurasia are being prepared," N. Iskakov said.
