November 13. Kazakhstan Today - The results of the second forum of creative and scientific intelligentsia of the CIS member states represent huge interest for UNESCO. UNESCO General Director Koichiro Matsuura said in a salutatory word to members of the forum, the agency reports.
"This forum considers prospects of development, aspires to respond to arising challenges of the future in different fields of UNESCO activity - education, science, communication that have great impact on steady development, UNESCO General Director noted. "The results of the forum will represent huge interest both for UNESCO and for wide international community," he concluded.
As it was informed earlier, a two-day forum under the motto - Culture, science, education - to the future generations of the countries of Commonwealth is taking place in Astana at the support of the Interstate fund of humanitarian cooperation of CIS member states. The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and Company Kazak auenderi are the organizers of the event.
Annual grants to young creative individuals and the premium of Commonwealth in the field of science and education, culture and art, humanitarian and public work are planned to be found at the forum, which will be handed over on behalf of the Interstate fund of humanitarian cooperation of the CIS member countries.
The representatives of cultural and scientifically-educational elite, profile state departments of CIS countries, the members of the council for humanitarian cooperation and the board of the Interstate fund of humanitarian cooperation of CIS member states are taking part in the forum.
