Meeting of militaries and diplomats of SCO states held in Pekin

Astana. November 7. Kazakhstan Today - The 17th session of joint control group on realization of Shanghai (1996) and Moscow (1997) agreements on strengthening of measures of trust in the military area in borders' areas and on mutual reduction of armed forces in frontier areas has been held since October 29 in Pekin, the agency reports.

According to the press secretary of foreign policy department of Kazakhstan Ilyas Omarov, the representatives of military and diplomatic departments of Kazakhstan, China, the Kyrgyzstan Republic, Russia and Tajikistan have taken part in the session.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting of the experts will last till November 9.

"During the meeting the results of the conducted work for 2006 have been discussed and the plan of inspection activity for 2008 will be coordinated," the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed, having added, that "other urgent issues of military-frontier cooperation will be discussed as well.
