Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the EU commission supported activization of partnership with Turkmenistan and search for individual approach of EU in cooperation with the country that has large potential, the agency reports referring to the state news agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) on Tuesday.
According to TDH, the chairman of the EU Commission emphasized that the interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan is caused by its key role in the Central Asian region. In this connection, the role of the neutral status of the country, actively pursuing policy of good neighborhood and constructive interaction with all countries of the world, has been noted. The chairman of the EU Commission supported activization of partnership with Turkmenistan and search for individual approach of EU in cooperation with the country."
As it was informed earlier, the leader of Turkmenistan discussed with the chairman of the EU Commission Jose Manuel Barrozo participation of EU in the project of creation of transport corridor through Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran to the Persian Gulf.
The negotiations of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium Guy Verhofstad and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belgium Karel De Gucht were scheduled for November 6. On the last day of the visit to Brussels the President of Turkmenistan will meet NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. The President of Turkmenistan will hold the meeting with the chairmen of the leading European companies.
