Kazakhstan, Syria ready to become friendly partners in international scene

As it was informed earlier, the first state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Syrian Arabian Republic began yesterday.
It is remarkable that the first state visit of the leader of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev is taking place in the year of the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Syrian Arabian Republic.
Yesterday after the official ceremony of the meeting in the Palace of the President of Syria N. Nazarbayev and Bashar al-Assad carried on negotiations in narrow and expanded structures.
During the negotiations held in warm and constructive atmosphere, the parties discussed ways of development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
N. Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan highly estimates importance of Syria in the Arabian and Muslim world and its significant role in the regional policy in the Near East.
President N. Nazarbayev stated that Kazakhstan supports aspiration of the Arabian states to solve protracted Near-Eastern conflict. Kazakhstan supports achievement of fair and universal resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict within the limits of the United Nations and in the interests of peace.
The leader of the state N. Nazarbayev called Syria to participate in the work of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia and the congress of leaders of world and traditional religions.
The President of Syria Bashar al-Assad noted that Syria supports global initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan in Asia and in the world. They deserve the highest estimation. What is taking place in the Caspian Sea in Central Asia and in the Near East are the interconnected international events. "We are for these processes to continue and Syria plans to participate in them," the President of Syria said.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev expressed confidence that the current visit to Damascus will give impulse to development of the Kazakhstan-Syrian cooperation.
