Damage sum due to Proton-M crash to be defined in December, 2007 - Roscosmos chairman

Astana. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - The sum of the damage caused by the crash of the carrier rocket Proton-M will be defined in December, 2007. The chairman of the governmental commission, the head of the Federal space agency of the Russian Federation Anatoly Perminov informed today, the agency reports.

The Russian party has officially stated that it accepts an indispensability of compensation of the expenses connected with realization of undertakings on revealing the reasons, assessments, and liquidation of the accident," A. Perminov emphasized.

Thus, A. Perminov said that the Russian party "does not have any secret thoughts not to carry out the arrangements, including payment of economic damage."

In his turn, the Emergency Minister of Kazakhstan Victor Hrapunov emphasized that the Kazakhstan structural divisions made all calculations according to the program of the commission work. All calculations were presented on September 28.

"We came to the common opinion that all work should be done till December 1 and damage should be paid by the Russian party in 2007," the Emergency Minister said.
