Relatives of HIV-infected children demand to toughen punishment of oblast ex-health care chairmen

The parents of two infected children insist on changing preventive punishment concerning ex-director of the regional department of public health services Nursulu Tasmagambetova, her ex-assistant Nagima Zholdasova and the ex-chairman of the committee of medical services quality control Ryskulbek Baykharashev.
The victims are dissatisfied that the officials of the oblast health care services have been sentenced to conditional terms and demand their imprisonment.
As it was informed earlier, on June 27 in Shymkent the verdict on the case of mass HIV infection of children was pronounced. 16 defendants received punishment connected with imprisonment, five, including ex-chairman of the regional department of public health services N. Tasmagambetova, have been sentenced to conditional punishment. The same day about 40 doctors - friends and relatives of the convicted gathered next to the building of Al-Farabi court and made protest against unfair, in their opinion, verdicts.
