Moscow to host session of Ministerial Council of Defense of CIS states

June 20. Kazakhstan Today - Moscow will host the session of Ministerial Council of Defense of the CIS member states on June 20. The CIS Executive Committee press service informed the agency.
According to the press service, during the session 23 questions of the agenda have been planned to discuss. The session participants will make a decision on presidency in the Council in connection with promotion of ex-Chairman of the Council Sergey Ivanov to a higher position, and the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation - Anatoly Serdyukov.
During the meeting it is planned to consider the questions of activity of Collective forces on maintenance of peace in the Commonwealth in the zone of conflict in Abkhazia and Georgia. It is supposed to discuss the results of the activity of the Committee of heads of the bodies on the work with staff of the Ministries of Defense of the CIS member states at the Ministerial Council of Defense of these countries and the main directions of its activity till 2010.
