Kyrgyzstan adopted law on order of receiving of dual citizenship

Bishkek. May 30. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev signed the law On Citizenship defining the order of receiving dual citizenship, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

According to the press service, the law establishes the norms for receiving dual citizenship, the grounds and the order of obtaining and termination of citizenship.

The accepted document noted that Kyrgyzstan citizens having dual citizenship have no right to be elected to the post of the President of the Republic, the deputy of the Parliament, or occupy any other high state posts. The citizenship, according to the law, can be transmitted both through newborn children's father or mother.

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan accepted the bill On Citizenship in March 2007.
