Kazakhstan Today - The Kazakhstan General Public Prosecutor assistant Merey Vaisov met the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour today, the Kazakhstan State Office of Public Prosecutor press service informed the agency.
According to the press service, during the meeting the parties discussed the questions regarding the situation with human rights in the country and the region. Marey Vaisov told the UN Commissioner about the role of the bodies of the Office of Public Prosecutor in the government system.
"Following the results of negotiations the parties came to the common opinion on the necessity to strengthen cooperation between the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights," the press service added.
