Kazakhstan new military doctrine approved

Astana. April 9. Kazakhstan Today - The decree of the President approved Kazakhstan new military doctrine, the agency reports referring to official mass media.

"According to subitem 2 of item 2 of clause 5 of the law of the Republic Kazakhstan dated January 7, 2005 On Defense and Armed Forces of Kazakhstan: Military doctrine of Kazakhstan is to be approved," the text of the decree signed on March 21 by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev states.

According to the Military doctrine, the text of which is published in the state mass media, the basis for its adoption is "social, economic and political modernization of the Kazakhstan society and the changes of military-political situation in the world." "The Situation around of Kazakhstan has changed radically. There are new factors destabilizing conditions in the region creating threat to the national safety that demands increase of the system of effectiveness of constant monitoring of military threats," the document states.

"Realization of the regulations of the Military doctrine will be provided due to further improvement of the military system, carrying out of complex interconnected political, diplomatic, economic, social, information, legal, military and other measures directed at securing of military safety of Kazakhstan," the text of the documents states.

"At the second stage (2009 - 2010) the basic efforts will be directed at increase of qualitative parameters of armies and their stage-by-stage technical re-equipment with modern armament, military equipment, and special facilities," the document underlines.
