Nazarbayev to visit Egypt in March

Astana. February 26. Kazakhstan Today - The visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Egypt will take place on March 11-13. The Minister of Culture and Information Yermukhamet Yertysbayev informed today during the 4th session of the Kazakh-Egyptian intergovernmental commission on commerce, economic, cultural-humanitarian, scientific and technical cooperation, the agency reports.

"Business forum with participation of the representatives of business structures of both countries will take place to further develop trading cooperation between two countries within the limits of the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Egypt on March 11-13," Y. Yertysbayev said.

"Egypt is one of the basic trading partners of Kazakhstan in the Near East. 13 % the general volume of commodity turnover of the Republic with the countries of the African continent accounts for Egypt," he emphasized.

According to the Minister, commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Egypt in 2006 made $19.5 million, that is twice as much compared to 2005 parameters.
