February 13. Kazakhstan Today - The Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev decreed the appointment of Nurtay Abykayev as the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia, the president's press service informed.
As it was informed earlier, for the last four years N. Abykayev headed the Upper Chamber of the Parliament - the Senate. In January, 2006, at the plenary session of the Senate, the President mentioned that N. Abykayev expressed desire to start diplomatic career. The President complied his request, having appointed him the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation.
