Astana. January 31. Kazakhstan Today - 400 billion KZT will be invested in building and development of the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana in 2007. The akim of Astana Askar Mamin said at the meeting with the citizens, the agency reports.

"Astana occupies the leading position in the country by volume of investments. Its share makes about 12 %," the akim noted. "This provides stable growth of taxes and other income to the budget of the city which made 132 billion KZT in 2006 and 164.6 billion KZT in 2007," he said.

"The budget of the city has a clear-cut social orientation. 37.4 billion KZT will be allocated for social needs."
