Three agents of foreign states special services disclosed in Kazakhstan

Astana. December 23. Kazakhstan Today - In 2006 in Kazakhstan three agents of special services of the foreign states have been disclosed. Kazakhstan KNB official representative Kenzhebulat Beknazarov informed at the press conference in Astana, the agency reports.

"Two of them, the citizens of Kazakhstan, have been sentenced according to 165 clause of the criminal code stipulating the responsibility for high treason," K. Beknazarov said. According to him, these two people have been sentenced to 12 and 10 years of imprisonment accordingly.

K. Beknazarov refused to specify the countries of the special services that the condemned worked for. "Special services all over the world do not disclose the names of the caught red-handed agents of foreign secret service. KNB has an agreement with a number of foreign partners not to disclose these data," he explained.

KNB representative specified that the condemned for high treason were interested in the whole spectrum of questions in different directions: data in the field of military secrets, policy of the state, technologies and development in scientific sphere, activity of power structures, KNB and the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.

According to Beknazarov, 17 foreign citizens suspected in participation of special services activities of other states carried out on the territory of our country, the activity mismatching the officially declared purpose of stay in Kazakhstan were extradited out of Kazakhstan in 2006. "All of them will not be able to enter our country," he emphasized.

K. Beknazarov informed that during the check of the state bodies in 2006 3000 infringements of privacy regime were disclosed. 230 employees have been called for these infringements to administrative and disciplinary account.
