Kazakhstan to deliver grain to Saudi port Dammam

Astana. December 20. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is prepared to deliver grain of wheat to the Saudi port Dammam in the Persian Gulf. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom Kayrat Lama Sharif said at the meeting with the governor of East province of Saudi Arabia the Prince Mohammed Ben Fahd Abdul Aziz.

In the parties' opinion, the deliveries are favorable to Saudi Arabia, as they will allow satisfying the needs of many Arabian countries. In his turn, the Saudi governor expressed desire to establish direct communication between the East province and Akmola oblast, which is one of the leading regions of Kazakhstan that cultivates high-quality food wheat.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, during the negotiations the arrangement on the organization of the delegation visit of Akmola oblast to the seaport Dammam in January, 2007 has been reached.

As it was informed earlier, having total grain harvest 18 million tons the total amount of grain export from Kazakhstan in 2006 - 2007 can make 7 - 8 million tons.
