Kazakhstan Today - Joint special frontier operation Morzbon-2006 is taking place on the territory of Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the agency reports referring to Kazakh KNB press service.
"Special state frontier operation is being carried out according to the plan of CIS Council of Frontier Army Commanders. Representatives of Security Departments of five states of the Commonwealth are taking part in it: boundary armies, the Ministries of Defense, Emergency, Internal Affairs, security services, agencies over drugs control and customs bodies," press service representatives explained. The main goal of Morzbon-2006 - suppression of drug channels, illegal migration and weapon smuggling.
The operation will last till August 11.
