Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev attaches great importance to planting trees in Astana, the President's press service said on Thursday.
"Planting trees around Astana - very important and I am constantly engaged in it," the President said, visiting today the nursery forest Astana Zelenstroy.
According to the President, there is 40 thousand hectares of wood around the city.
"Every year we increase these territories by 5 thousand hectares," he added.
The nursery forest Astana Zelenstroy of total area of 349.6 hectares was formed in 1965.
