EU voice concern by mass media amendments

"We express our concern by the consequences connected with signing of amendments for freedom of media and expression in Kazakhstan and will continue to follow the situation of Kazakh mass media, EU message dated July 6.
Amendments adopted by Kazakhstan "go counter with obligations incurred by Kazakhstan applying for OSCE presidency.
As it was informed earlier, the law On Amendments and Additions in Acts on Mass Media developed by the Ministry of Culture and Information, adopted by the Parliament and signed by the President has caused the protest not only by the Republican mass media, but also international organizations.
Committee on protection of journalists - nongovernmental organization located in New York, independent private organization supporting distribution of freedom in the world, - Freedom House, International Federation of Journalists, uniting 500 thousand members all over the world, World association of newspapers, World forum of editors and others voice serious concern.
