Kazakhstan Today - Today NATO Scientific committee session of the international organization took place in Almaty within the framework of NATO Week in Kazakhstan, the agency reports.
"We aspired to emphasize interest of NATO in cooperation with Kazakhstan and create an opportunity to exchange opinions between the heads and experts of Kazakhstan and their colleagues from NATO and other states-partners," the assistant general secretary for public diplomacy - NATO Chairman of Scientific committee Jean Fournet said.
The scientific committee supervises the program of alliance Security Through Science Programme where special attention is given to cooperation in three directions in the field of security - protection against terrorism, counteraction to nonconventional threats to security and priorities of the states-partners.
Within the framework of the program Security Through Science Kazakhstan and NATO develop such projects as an estimation of radiological risks in Semipalatinsk oblast and Virtual Silk Way which will help scientifically-teaching community with reliable and economic connection to the Internet with the use of high-speed broadband communication facility. |
