Kazakhstan Today - PM of Kazakhstan Daniyal Akhmetov received the executive director of British Banking Group Standard Chartered PLC Richard Meddings, the President’s press service informed on Thursday.
In the course of the meeting the parties discussed prospects of company’s activity in Kazakhstan.
Currently banking sector is being liberalized and the Republic is interested in competitiveness in this sector, improvement of banking services quality and in functioning of various banks of the international level, D. Akhmetov noted.
Standard Chartered PLC works in 560 countries of the world and has USD 220 billion of assets. Profit of the bank amounted to USD 2.7 billion last year.
“Kazakhstan has all the necessary work conditions. Population income will grow allowing services in retail sphere and small and medium enterprises," D. Akhmetov summed up.
D. Akhmetov approved intention of the bank to work in Kazakhstan and charged appropriate structures to develop conditions for cooperation. |
