Astana. January 14. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan suggests declaring August 1 Day of Security and Cooperation in Europe. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, informed in the video placed on the official site of the presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE, the agency reports.

"OSCE is an organization that cannot be replaced. Its stagnation or disappearance would create vacuum in the Euro Atlantic space. In this context, I suggest considering an initiative of declaring August 1 Day of Signing of the Helsinki Final Act and Day of Security and Cooperation in Europe," N. Nazarbayev stated.

"As for the presidency priorities, Kazakhstan will aspire to focus its attention on achieving an optimum balance of all three OSCE principles."
